Joshua,

This is a safe place. No one here will laugh at you. We have all been there, done that, and have plenty of tee shirts hanging in our closets.

Bringing our struggles into the light is the first step in the healing process. Satan uses shame to his full advantage. The post you just wrote is a huge step for you. I am always moved by young men like you who tackle this sin instead of waiting until later like I did.

You are right. Many people go through the same things. Thus we can have a Samson Society. But how you struggle and the pain it is rooted in and also has caused you is uniquely yours. Do not feel as if you must apologize for your pain. Acknowledging and facing it are also part of the healing process.

God bless you. You just took one giant step forward.

Joshua, to add to that excellent comment. Once you truly ask God for forgiveness . . . guess what? He DOES forgive you and you must forgive yourself and move on too! We're here for ya! -Another brother that flew the same airlines, was just on an earlier flight!

Welcome, brother. And don't be worried about anyone laughing at you up here, 'cause we'd be laughing at ourselves as well. One thing we learn up here is that, although we think our sin is unique and so terrible, we find out we're dead wrong, that most men struggle with these things, and have for a long time. Me for over 50 years.

You made a good first step, coming up here and opening up. "Put your feet up and set a spell." You're in the right place, and we're all sinners up here. But we have a God who forgives us.

Joshua, for me, part of my ongoing healing process is beginning to recognize Satan's accusatory voice from God's loving voice. When I look in the mirror, Satan will tell me, "Look at you: You're FAT, you're BALDING! Remember when you were 18? NOW look at you. You can't even fight off temptation and act like a Christian, and when you DO give in, you go running to your 'Silas.' You're a whiney baby, and if you speak up about the way you REALLY feel, all the hurricane of emotions swirling about in your spirit, people are going to laugh. You consider yourself a MAN? HA! You're not a MAN. Your dad, he is a man. Your grandpa was a man. But YOU? Good Lord, you're pathetic. You're nothing, you're scum."

Does any of this sound familiar? We have to remember that Satan is the accuser of the brethren, but God is a proud Father. Do you think He's up in heaven saying, "Joshua is SO far from where I want him to be. He's nothing to proud of, that's for sure"? NO, man! He's up there saying, "RIGHT there, THAT'S my son! That's Joshua, and he's amazing. Is he perfect? NO, but He's MINE, and I cherish him."

Yeah, absolutely. I don't have yahoo IM but I can download it. I thought I'd be Joe Cool and download both AOL and MSN, and then everyone I talk to says, "You have Yahoo IM?" Funny. Anyway, yeah. As far as calling, we need to get together and set up a time to do that, no problem.

Have a good day, brother.

Hello Joshua. Just as your other brothers in Christ have been telling you, you don't have to worry about a single person here laughing at you.....ever! What things have you tried in the past to deter you from from these sins? If your addiction to cybering and porn are done on your home computer you could have someone setup an internet filter that wouldn't allow you access to these sites. That's just one suggestion. I'll be praying for you.

Joshua, you are definitely in a safe place. Keeping that stuff in and trying to go it on your own will only lead you deeper into the sin. You will find that surrounding yourself with brother who share in your struggle and being honest with them about it will be a real blessing, and you know what? You will be a blessing to them too!

Good Evening My Friend, you are welcome to look me up whenever. I struggle with the same things, right down to not wanting to talk about it. I am not always on-line, but I will answer you as soon as I can. Keep praying and don't give up. No matter how you feel. I am praying for you. God bless you.

Joshua,

I'm proud of you for opening up and sharing your thoughts!!! I had a pornography addiction that took me 10 years to deal with and it almost cost me my family, due to the paths I chose as a result of my involvement with pornography!!! Its truly an evil institution that wants nothing but your money!!!!!!

The things I struggle with the most are the things that I've done in my past and the memories that I'll never be able to erase!!! Only by God's grace can I look forward to each and every day like a new day ready to walk with the Lord in everything that I do and thank Him for restoring my marriage and my family....

Remember in our walk with the Lord, He never leaves our side, but its us as men who decide for a day, a week or a year that we don't need God in our lives and that is truly a wrong attitude about life to have.. We all need God's daily input and devotion in our lives... We must learn to live dependently on Him and for men that can be a difficult attitude to maintain...

God Bless you Joshua as you pursue your walk with Him...

Josh,

I commend you for being open. Just as others have said, you've done the first step. Keep on fighting and praying.

I have my struggles too, but God is faithful to set us free.
