Flushing Our Freedom Down the Toilet...

I don't particularly like bringing bad news. Many of you know our Republic is falling apart. However, if Obama Care passes in Congress, our freedom to choose for ourselves will be washed down the toilet. I suggest that you read this article (see link below), and then call your representatives to stop this Mad Cow called Obama.

Is politics meant to be an area of discussion here on Samson?

To be honest I am not sure and I apologize if I broke the rules. I thought the issue to be important though...

Steve,
I disagree with your position and can find many sites that represent the opposite side and support change. However, I think that a discussion in politics will not unite us in our desire to walk closer to God. Maybe just posting a link that folks can follow if they want is enough and any discussion on the point can be done at the site referenced.
Peace,
Phillip

Thanks for the heads up, I don't see any reason why you can't post it, everyone has their own views and opinions and everything. I just think promoting certain things over others should be watched. I think this site is about tolerating others as much as you want them to tolerate you, which isn't always easy

Discussion of politics is not what bothers me about this post. What really causes strain is that in one breath we will condemn our current government and the other sign a message "Maranatha" which mean our Lord cometh.

Why are we surprised that our Republic is falling apart or that we are losing our freedom? Every "worldly" form of government will and has failed. They are not based on the God or His Kingdom. The world will do what it does. Does that mean we don't work to make the changes each of us think should be made? No. However our Kingdom our government as believers is above any worldly government. And that Kingdom calls us to love our enemies. Pray for those who persecute us.

Our Kingdom calls us to love one another. I would suggest that the majority of our problems started with retreating from that core concept. Calling a person, another human being "Mad Cow" does not represent the Kingdom of God.

How can we expect a Kingdom of Earth to be successful if the people within that Kingdom abandon the Kingdom of Heaven?

Health care, abortion, school prayer, taxes, etc and etc are all examples of our government failing. This is expected and should not surprise one believer. Therefore our sight should be set on the only true Kingdom and what the King of that government would have us do.

Father- I thank you for our president and all our leaders. I pray that you will give them wisdom and understanding in the decisions they make. But above that Father I pray that you will put people in their path that will share your Son with them. That they will come to a place that they recognize their need for You. Help us as disciples of Jesus to love them and show Your Son to them even in our disagreements. Father help us to usher in your Kingdom so that your will is done on earth as it is Heaven.

Just a thought to follow up Leonard. I was told the other day that we cant love God any more than the person we love the least. Its hard but true . The bible said we must love our brother as ourselves. That means by calling someone a mad cow you may as well be calling the God you adore a mad cow too.

Well, Downie, the argument you're using is misapplied and very weak! Jesus called the pharisees "sons of the Devil" (John 8:44), In Matthew 23 Jesus calls evil people names that are actually even worse than "mad cow"! In many instances you can see Jesus furious at iniquity and unrighteousness; yet, he does want to see all of them saved. So much so that he asks the Father to forgive them on the cross.

However, Jesus does not dismiss their sin! Obama, with his deceptive ways, smooth talk, lies, and lies has deceived the whole nation. But what can I say? My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being My priest. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. Today we are witnessing a major change in America. A change for much worse. Well, ignorance is bliss! Americans have put in position of leadership people who lack character and integrity - this reflects the moral condition of the nation as a whole. We do have people in leadership that are evil. This is undeniable. And what I see today is the worse in our history! May God have mercy on all of us for our choices. We are being judged just as Isarel was judged by rejecting The Lord as King (1 Sa 8). Well, we have Obama and the whole Congress!

Steve not one person on this earth is capable of judging in total truth and total love. Only Jesus. How dare we compete with His position.

This world is sinful, broken and out of God's plan. Only through Jesus Christ do we begin to re-enter that plan as individuals. This world, prior to Christ's return, will never conform to God's plan. Only individuals can begin to this.

Perhaps you are right our nation is being judged, not because of the wickedness of one president or entire group of congressmen, but for the wickedness within all of us.

I beg you to begin to apply the verse you quoted to your own life prior to applying it to any other person on the face of the planet. The real wickedness is in each one of us. Including me and you. And God does have a plan to bring us to repentance for that. A way to gain the knowledge I am lacking is only through Jesus Christ. Not through a political party, election or official. It has never been that way and it never will.

This nation is being destroyed because I have forgotten the law of my God.

Thanks Leonard. Yes we all have sinned and become short of the Glory of God but he was faithful and Just to forgive our sins. It is so sad when I seem to feel hate from what is said prior. Jesus himself said that we cannot love the father more than the least of our brothers.
