ADD/ADHD, addictions and Christian life

I can relate too. Altho, I've never been diagnosed with ADD or ADHD, I'm pretty certain I have it. I do feel second rate as well. I've thought that I'm just not disciplined enough to be a strong man…

Saying No

Do you have trouble saying no.  I know I struggle with saying no to the wrong things.  After going down the path of saying yes to the wrong things and establishing a pattern of saying yes, it is hard…

Thanks for your prayers Phil. I was in Chicago for a week up until Tuesday...thought strongholds liked to invade during that time. I have been practicing the techniques in Every Man's Battle for a couple of weeks, and it revealed to me how my eyes deceive me into thinking that looking at women is ok--it's just lust. In Chicago, I was hit with it all around me especially when I was drinking. I am finding the process of gaining purity to be frustrating when I forget that I am not called to be perfect. That is bondage under the law. My struggles are an opportunity to look toward Christ to weather storms of the flesh. Slips occur, and they are great opportunities to gain humility in our imperfection. At least this is how I work on looking at it when I am not beating myself up.

Hi Phil...I left you a voice message last week after your last message to me...maybe you didn't receive it.

I asked another guy to be my Silas yesterday, and we met for dinner and a couple of beers. I think this is going to be a longer term Silas...the first two were introductory and then transitional....

One guy referred to this period I entered as the Great Nothing...I suppose he is right. My wife is numb and is looking for direction. I am supporting her in any way I can without meddling. I am focusing on my own relationship with Christ and asking for my heart to continue to be transformed.

Call me anytime...

Hey Phil, Thanks for adding me, brother. I'd be happy to chat sometime about meetings, and happy for you to join us on Wednesday mornings... 8 am your time. If that doesn't work, let's talk about something that would. I'll be praying for you today, my brother. God is good to bring us together with those who have walked similar journeys and will fight the good fight beside us!

Hi Phil,
How has the site helped me? I suppose little so far, I have made contact with a person here in NZ but it is only email contact. I am keen to develop some healthy relationships with men and my friend in Scotland put me onto the site and I registered. I am not sure how it works and whether it works better if there was a group locally.Anyway, let's see howit goes. If you want to be in touch and develop an email friendship please get back, ask me anything you like, I will tell you if it is too much too soon, if you know what I mean?
Take care and look forward to hearing from you,
Paul
