Gentlemen--please do not give up on the blog. I had a lot of work done, and then we got a new computer. One thing I am not is a computer nerd, so I need to go back and move files from the old to the new. Or start all over. Not something I really wish to do. Pain meds tend to leave me in a fog, and typing is quite painful. Sometimes, when I think something is important, I'll do it anyway.
Thanks to all of you for you encouragement.
Dale

Remember the old "That’s good... That’s bad" jokes. (Yeah, I know. They’re corny enough you would like to forget them. Me too.) Still...
Recall the one about the guy who jumped out of a plane?
Ohhh...that’s bad
But he had a parachute.
Ohhh...that’s good.
But his parachute didn’t open.
Oh! That is BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!
Yes, but there was a haystack under him when he landed.
Wow! That’s good.
Well, not really. The haystack was covering up a pitch-for…

The Journey Home:
Leaving Home, Part Two
Leaving home often beings with a whisper. A breath of discontent that starts out so quiet that you can barely hear it, and then grows to the roar of the most destructive tornado. The voice that whispers over and over, "You deserve better that this!"
"This" can be the job that you once loved, but that has grown mundane. Where the challenge has dissolved into tedium. Where the office that once seemed hold the promise of success, now closes in on you like…

The Journey Home:
Leaving Home, Part One
Ever need a vacation from a vacation? Vacations are an incredible amount of work. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
For us, getting ready for a vacation starts with laundry. Mountains and mountains of it. Even though there are only two of us. Now laundry is not a simple task. First there is the sorting. Warm water. Cold water. Wash-with-like-darks. Wash-with-like-lights. And as if that isn’t enough, there are the delicates. Cold water delicates, war…

Radio announcers are a unique breed.
Skilled announcers think on their feet. They express themselves well, and are able to recover from their mistakes. Or even cover them completely. They are flexible, able to step into different roles in what can be a single moment . From traffic reporter to giving that dreaded weather forecast and then back to general commentator. All in fluid motion. Without a stutter, or a hiccup. And the announcers who really excel make you feel as if they are chatting wit…

I am sorry you have to be in so much pain bro. I have chronic pain but it is just back pain and nothing like yours. I wrote something a few years ago when my wife left and I lost my home and someone dear to me died that may help a little. When you get a chance check it out:

Stay the course man, I will be praying!
Your friend and brother,
Scott
thanks for the warm welcome. Looking forward to some good fellowship. I look forward to sharing my ongoing story and journey with you guys.
If you're referring to "Pain as a Necessity..." and one or two of the other posts, I have to confess that I was largely talking about "emotional" or "philosophical" aspects of Pain, and not so much about the physical... I myself am not sure that God ever will us to be in physical pain, and surely ALL pain is a result of Sin's Curse...
That being said, I'm glad you enjoyed the Blog... I've been writing for about 4 years now... Dig through the Archives and see if there aren't other things out there that might be of some help to you...
Are you seeking medical attention for your chronic pain? Wow, 24/7... What a hardship... I'll pray for strength for you, and guidance as you seek out effective medical remediation...
Blessings,
Greg
Hope all is going as well as it can.
