Flock 1.5 out of 5 Stars Main character played by Richard Gere caught my attention. He monitors sex offenders and has an unorthodox approach which forces him out. Too graphic for me and not much o... Continue

Saturday, June 28th

I've been doing okay this past week health wise. The medication for helping my pancreas food enzymes seems to be working. Had a couple of days this week when I had some energy... like today as I just finished mowing my lawn. Tonight is movie night at my place and I'll be watching the "Bucket List" with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. Should be a good comedy and looking forward to a couple of pirates coming over. This is a great method of increasing fellowship among ourselves and is inexpensi… Continue

Saturday, June 21st

I believe today is the 1st day of summer and what a great day it is here in Southern Saskatchewan. My daughter will be leaving Monday for Toronto, ON for work. She just graduated from grade 12 plus, got engaged though the wedding is a year away. Denise and I will be empty nesters with the exception of our German Shepherd. I'm doing okay I guess... no use complaining about my health as there's nothing I can do about it. My motto is, "hey, we can accept the good times, why not then the difficult… Continue

Not too much to report except that I finally got diagnosed as having chronic pancreatitis. I am elated that I now know what I am dealing with. I recently researched chronic pancreatitis and definetly have the classic symptoms. Taking a food enzyme to help digestion and will see my GI specialist in 3 months. My daughter is graduating this month from grade 12, and is planning of moving to Toronto to live with friends of ours while she looks for work. Will be kind of nice to have more room in our… Continue

Friday, May 30th "Faith in Action"

Well, it is nearly two weeks since I updated my blog. This Wednesday, I saw my GI specialist in Regina, SK and was finally diagnosed as having Chronic Pancreatitis. Not a good thing but "hey, we can accept the good times, why not then the difficult ones." I am happy that I now know what I am dealing with though, I may only have 5 years left as my symptoms are advanced. Not much can be done except taking enzyme medication and a low-fat diet. The severe pain will continue and get worse... this is… Continue

Friday, May 16th "Sorting it all out"

I just had some fellow pirates and wives over to my place for a movie. We usually have a movie night on Fridays and rotate. Tonight we watched the Hallmark Classic, "My Name is Bill W." It's about the formation of AA in 1935. James Wood got an Academy award for his performance. James Gardiner (Rockford Files) played the co-founder, Dr. Bob S. It was an excellent movie and ideal for us as 3 of us are recovering alcoholics Health wise... I still have good and bad days. Looking forward to seeing t… Continue
